Stop Loan Sharks

Stop Loan Sharks is the national illegal money-lending team in England, established in 2004 to investigate and prosecute unlicensed lenders while safeguarding the people they exploit. Using former police, trading standards and debt-advice specialists, the team works alongside education providers, housing associations, debt-advice services and the police to raise awareness of the dangers of loan sharks, support those trapped by them and bring offenders to justice. To date the team has supported over 32,500 victims and written off more than £91.6 million in illegal debt.
