As Facilities Manager, you will lead the effective maintenance, safety and compliance of Accommodation Concern’s offices and supported accommodation properties across North Northamptonshire. This is a varied, hands-on management role that combines practical maintenance work with responsibility for ensuring that our wider facilities function operates safely, efficiently and reliably.
Alongside leading the service, you will personally undertake routine repairs, inspections, property preparation and other practical maintenance tasks within your competence. You will oversee planned and reactive maintenance, monitor outstanding work and recurring issues, and ensure that jobs are recorded, progressed and completed to the required standard. Where specialist work is needed, you will appoint and manage appropriately qualified contractors and service providers.
You will act as the organisation’s lead operational contact for health and safety, working with senior managers and competent external advisers where specialist advice is required. This will include overseeing property inspections, risk assessments, servicing, certification and key compliance areas such as fire safety, electrical and gas safety, water hygiene and asbestos management.
The role also includes line management of the Maintenance and Facilities Lead, oversight of facilities budgets and records, and the coordination of improvement works, refurbishments and property projects. You will bring together practical ability, effective leadership and sound judgement to help ensure that our properties remain safe, welcoming, well maintained and suitable for the people who live in and use them.
