Support, closer to home
Accommodation Concern is launching Northants Thrive, a new four-year community advice project funded by a £400,016 award from The National Lottery Community Fund.
The project will provide free housing, debt, benefits and employability support directly within communities experiencing high levels of financial insecurity across North Northamptonshire. It is planned to launch in July 2026.
Northants Thrive has been developed to make it easier for people to access support earlier, closer to home and in places they already know and trust. Advice will be delivered through community venues, outreach sessions and home visits where appropriate.

- Home visits where there’s a clear barrier to attending a session
Who it’s for
Who Northants Thrive can support
The project is for adults aged 18 and over who live in, are connected to, or regularly access support within the project’s target areas — particularly people experiencing housing worries, debt, benefit issues, budgeting difficulties, employability-related barriers or wider financial hardship.
Northants Thrive will also work to reach people who may find it harder to access mainstream services, including those affected by trauma, disability, poor mental health, language barriers, caring responsibilities, stigma, transport difficulties or previous negative experiences of services.
Where
Where the project will work
Northants Thrive will focus on priority neighbourhoods and surrounding rural areas across North Northamptonshire, including the Hemmingwell estate in Wellingborough, Avondale and Grange estates in Kettering, Kingswood estate in Corby, and nearby communities.
Outreach locations and session times will be confirmed as part of the July 2026 launch and added to this page once available.
Getting support
How to get help
You can contact Accommodation Concern directly by telephone or email, speak to us in person at a drop-in venue, or ask a local partner, community venue, school, GP surgery, health professional, support worker or voluntary sector organisation to help you make contact.
If you cannot attend an outreach session because of mobility, health, caring responsibilities or another barrier, please tell us — a home visit may be available where appropriate.
Partnerships
Working with local partners and community champions
Northants Thrive will work closely with local partners, grassroots organisations and trusted community spaces to make sure support reaches people who may not otherwise ask for help.
The project will initially focus on direct advice and early support. In years 3 and 4, Accommodation Concern will identify and train local community champions, supported by AC advisors, so they can keep sharing information, encouraging early access to advice and strengthening local networks once the funded project has ended.
