Repairs & maintenance

How residents can report repairs in AC supported accommodation.

Report a repair

Tell us as soon as something needs fixing

If something in your room or a shared area is broken, unsafe, leaking, not working properly, or getting worse, please report it promptly. Reporting repairs early helps us keep homes safe and prevents small problems becoming bigger ones.

You can use the online repair form or call the main office number if you are not sure what to do. If you are unsure whether something should be reported, report it anyway or speak to your key worker.

When you call, please be ready to give your name, property, room number if you have one, what needs repairing, and the best way to contact you.

What to report

Common repair issues

Heating and hot water

No heating, no hot water, broken radiators, boiler issues, or controls not working.

Water and leaks

Leaks, blocked sinks or toilets, dripping pipes, damp patches, or drainage problems.

Electrics

Lights, sockets, switches, appliances supplied by AC, or anything electrical that seems unsafe.

Doors, locks and windows

Problems with external doors, room doors, locks, windows, security, or keys.

Shared areas

Kitchens, bathrooms, halls, stairs, gardens, bins, laundry areas or other communal spaces.

Fire safety

Fire doors, alarms, emergency lights, exits or anything that could affect safety.

Safety

Urgent or emergency issues

If there is immediate danger, a fire, serious flood, smell of gas, electrical danger, or someone is at risk of harm, do not wait for an online form to be read. Call the emergency services or speak to staff immediately.

For urgent repairs, give as much detail as possible and make sure your phone number is correct so Maintenance or your support worker can contact you quickly.

  • Report repairs promptly
  • Do not try unsafe DIY fixes
  • Keep shared areas clear
  • Allow access where needed

Access

Staff and contractor access

AC staff or contractors may need to enter your room to inspect or complete a repair. We will give notice where possible, unless it is an emergency, there is a welfare concern, or urgent access is needed to protect people or the property.

If you give permission on the repair form for access when you are not home, please still make sure the area is safe and accessible.

Keeping homes safe

Residents are responsible for keeping their room clean and tidy, using shared areas respectfully, and telling us about repairs as soon as they notice them.
