National Lottery funding backs Northants Thrive

Four years of support for community-based advice, poverty prevention and financial resilience.

Funding news

Accommodation Concern has been awarded £400,016 over four years from The National Lottery Community Fund to support the delivery of Northants Thrive.

National Lottery Community Fund award for Northants Thrive

Northants Thrive is focused on preventing homelessness, reducing poverty and strengthening financial resilience for people facing the greatest disadvantage. The project is built around long-term, community-based support in neighbourhoods where residents may be least connected to services and most at risk of financial crisis.

The funding means AC can work with people earlier, stay alongside them for longer, and help turn immediate advice into more lasting stability.

In years 3 and 4, the project will also develop community champions. These champions will be trained and supported by AC advisers, helping to build stronger local networks and making sure practical support continues beyond the life of the funding.

Why it matters

Support closer to where people already are.

1

Earlier help

Advice before rent, benefit, debt or hardship issues become harder to recover from.

2

Community reach

Support in the places people trust, with less reliance on people finding the right doorway alone.

3

Financial resilience

Practical steps that help people understand options, stabilise income and reduce crisis pressure.
