About Us
Accommodation Concern was established in 1987, evolving from the shared vision of local day centres, clergy, and Councillors of all political persuasions. The vision was for a single organisation to work with people affected by homelessness locally and those in a precarious housing position.
By 1992 the organisation had grown and a Charity was formed. In 2012, although still a charity (number 1146257) we formed a company limited by guarantee (company number 7945758) to support our work.
From the very beginning we knew that prompt and accurate advice could help service users make informed choices and would often prevent the trauma, emotional, physical and financial cost of homelessness.
Our core objectives are to deliver good quality, accurate and accessible advice, support, education, training and outreach, which are designed to prevent homelessness and alleviate hardship, need, and distress.
We all work hard to support clients to meet their basic needs and realise their potential. People can rely on us for support, advice, training, practical assistance, or even just to listen.
